Video glasses
Video glasses or head mounted displays are glasses which allow a user to view video clips stored on their computer, mobile phone , DVD player or any other digital storage media. These glasses are also called personal media viewers.
The video glasses were first introduced in the 1990s and very bulky and inconvenient to use. However, with advances in technology, sleeker versions of video glasses are available. Some of these glasses are similar to standard sunglasses in dimension.
The displays used in video glasses use liquid crystal or light emitting diodes. A lens magnifies the image displayed, so that users get the illusion that they are watching the image on the big screen. Earbud headphones provide the audio interface for the equipment.
